I’ve mentioned multiple times how enamored I am with the evolution of AI and what it can do for language learners.

Sure, it’s not perfect and it’s clearly going to mess with language teachers1 but I prefer focusing on what matters most: whether it does help learn.

And, my god, it sure is an incredible tool.

I’ve spent the past few months experimenting with all sorts of prompts and conversations to push both my language skills and was already shocked by all ChatGPT could do.

But ever since I got GPT-4, my amazement has only skyrocketed.

The ability to connect ChatGPT to PDFs and the web as a whole brings so many new opportunities to all learners.

Want to bring your language skills to a whole new level? You can link a research paper written in your target language to ChatGPT and ask it to help you go through it part by part.

Want to develop your vocabulary regarding a video game that just came out? Ask ChatGPT to look online and then have a conversation about it with it. Or ask it to make the conversation on its own!

The possibilities are actually limitless.
