My wife and I are learning European Portuguese and there is quite a lack of audio materials for this language. Nearly all audio books and even translation engines are geared to Brazilian Portuguese. ElevenLabs is no exception. They only have voices in BP. :-(
I haven't tried Memrise; I'll give it a go. With Ai, like ChatGPT, you need to specify EP or BP. But with translators, it doesn't permit you to specify. Google translate appears to use BP, while fortunately, we have DeepL that appears to use EP. Linguee leans toward BP, but at least it states so. Reverso leans toward BP as well because that where most of the material they use seems to come from.

I’m also learning European Portuguese, I use Memrise and authentic podcasts, but I didn’t know that AI usually use Brazilian!

I am using Pi.ai these days. It is an emotionally intelligent AI, and I am literally asking philosophy questions on it. thanks for these.
It offers language learning on the front page.. but oof is its German pronunciation terrible, my satnav does better
Thanks for writing this, I’m taking baby steps towards using AI for language study, you’ve definitely made the road more exciting!
