I've just come back from two full weeks of holiday. For the first time in three years, I actually took some real time off. Didn't check emails. Didn't write. Didn't even prepare future pieces. I spent my time alternating between family, friends and witnessing a magnificent wedding.
It was absolutely exhausting. And yet, I now realize how much I needed it. My body and mind craved a bit of time off to reset and come back filled with more energy than ever.
It also helped me notice I was focusing all my energy on short-term tasks.
You see, I read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People back in 2018. It served as my entry point into the self-improvement world and made me dive deep. Since then, I've read tons of other self-help books, worked on myself, learned new skills and written hundreds of thousands of words online to help others.
And yet, it seems I had forgotten one of the main rules of this book. The time management matrix.
