I’ve had more conversations in Korean this past month than the 7 or 8 years and one thing has become clear. I lack tons of vocabulary.

Apart from very few grammar patterns, I can recognize sentences’ structure pretty well but I’m lacking tons of common words apparently.

And even when I do know them, I can’t seem to remember them when needed. I have to ask the Korean term only to think “how could have I forgotten this?!” the moment I’m told what it should be.

It’s frustrating, to say the least.

But it’s also a good reminder of two of the most important factors in language learning.

And to kick off this topic, let’s turn to a conversation about feminism I had this past weekend.
