As I write this, we’re on January 5th. 2022 already feels like it happened a long time ago. Hell, I don’t remember much of the beginning of that year. All I remember is that I started 2022 by testing positive for Covid on January 1st and feeling like crap.
It was almost a sign of what would happen in some parts of my life in 2022 and yet my life was also filled with incredible experiences, among which I count my time living in Thailand and Vietnam, and the time I spent with friends and family.
One such great thing in 2022 was the discovery of a group of amazing people: Joel who writes Learned, Natasha who writes Theory Gang, Pranjal who writes Chitthi, and Rylla who writes Experience, Savor, Share, Repeat. My weekly call with them since last February always shines bright in my life.
When it comes to languages, 2022 was a mess. I played around with countless languages which prevented me from improving much. Still, I don’t regret it for one second.
It was fun and I especially enjoyed learning more about creole languages and conlangs.
2023’s gonna be some of the same and a lot of not the same.
Here’s why and what I hope to do.
